Abstract

This essay talks about why whey protein is good for you. Firstly it starts off by establishing why we need protein to grow our muscles and the mechanism of muscle protein synthesis, secondly it moves onto the mechanism of interaction of the protein with the muscle fibers in detail, then it discusses how whey protein is manufactured from scratch till the end product. Then it explains the science behind protein absorption and how protein is absorbed by the muscle fibers. Then it further delves into what is the difference between a complete and incomplete source of protein and how whey protein is a complete source of protein. Then it explains the testing measures in place by some companies to ensure that the consumer buys the right product. And finally it explores two case studies regarding whey protein and how they are connected to the research aim, Why whey protein is good for you.
