Abstract

There has been a significant increase in interest in medicinal plants and nutraceuticals. Nutraceuticals are food supplements that come from herbal sources in nature. They have multiple health benefits. They are present in many forms such as powdered forms, capsules and oils etc. These herbal dietary supplements have compositions that contain polyphenols, carotenoids, minerals, vitamins and different phytochemicals. Due to the increase in market expansion of these products there has been a need to understand the actual benefits of these supplements. This research paper focuses on the qualitative analysis of Ginkgo biloba and St. John’s Wort. The results indicate that both the plants consist of almost all the supplements after doing a qualitative analysis of the plants.
