Investigation of the adoption of Chinese UX elements in Western cultures

Abstract

This paper intends to investigate and outline prospective explanations for the adoption of multiple user-experience paradigms (originating in China) to Western cultures. It encompasses discussion around why these paradigms were created, how they achieved mass adoption and which ventures brought these paradigms to mass adoption. This research was conducted through in-depth discussions with experts in user-experience design and research and subsequent research was conducted through review of multiple online research journals and other resources supporting or refuting the conclusions reached in the discussions.
