Enhancing Empathy in Conversational AI: A Review of Techniques Including EEG-Based Sentiment Analysis

Vanisha Kheterpal, Zlatimir Georgiev Petrov

ABSTRACT

This paper presents the development of AI chatbots with enhanced abilities in recognizing and responding to human emotions. Utilizing EEG-based emotion recognition, natural language processing, and adaptive learning, chatbots with significantly enhanced human-computer interaction with empathetic and contextually appropriate responses can be developed. Unlike previous AI systems, such as Tay Bot and Zo Bot, which lacked emotional comprehension, our chatbot demonstrates a profound ability to understand and engage with users emotionally. Chatbots with enhanced empathy can pave the way for future applications in customer service, healthcare, and education. This research highlights the transformative potential of emotionally intelligent AI.
