Abstract

This research paper revolves around education in India specifically in understanding the reasons high schoolers in a part of Delhi, India cannot access higher education. The paper particularly focuses on the lack of finances contributing to this issue and trying to discern why schemes meant to help students get the money they need to finance their university -level education are not widely available to them. For the paper a survey methodology of 85 students in the Greater Kailash 2 area of New Delhi, India was used which asked them various questions regarding the reasons they cannot access higher education, the need for finances, and the accessibility of schemes to access higher education. The study then goes on to analyze these results and provide recommendations for increasing scheme accessibility and for helping students access higher education overall.
